Fathers Day & Pistol Pete

Sitting with my 11 year old son this morning, he had just come in from shooting some basketball. He asked me if I ever played, and who my favorite player was to watch. I said Pistol Pete and he said "who???". I realized he has never seen Pistol Pete play, so I pulled up some highlights online and we sat and watched them together. He has been absolutely amazed watching video after video of Maravich, and even though I have seen them all, I too am still amazed at how good he was. I wish kids these days would have had the chance to see Pete play. He was truly the greatest player I have ever seen.
My son just found the Pistol Pete Homework Basketball Series on YouTube and has been propped up beside me with the laptop soaking all this information in. Every few minutes he has to show me another highlight, lol.
.good times...
RIP Pistol Pete

Seriously, that is nice. Cool way to pass on the legend of Pete to your son.

Some things shouldn't be ridiculed. Not many. But some.

This reminds me of watching that movie "The Pistol" about 50 times with my dad when I was a kid. Great movie, but I don't know if you could find it now. I have the movie poster in my closet at my parents' house!

Raise'em right. Glad your son appreciates the Pistol. He was amazing and left us way too soon.

You should frame that baby and put in on the game room wall..
