Ive seen a lot of people on this board bashing movies!! Some movies are completely ridiculous and need to be bashed!..But then there are the movies that could go either way and that's how i can tell the real movie lovers to the one's that would probly just suck to watch a movie with!! For instance ive been hearin of this movie the Grey which ive never seen before but i know it would entertain me by knowing who plays in it and what the previews have to offer!! Movies are supposed to entertain and if you're only entertained by a movie that presents the most likely scenarios then ur not enjoying the movie for what it is so stop tryin to spoil an entertaining movie with ur "This would never happen in real life" bullcrap!!

Seriously i hate movie bashers that try to cut down a movie that is actually entertaining...not everything has to make sense!!! A frickin hopeless guy got his face eatin off for like 20 min. in miami a couple weeks ago in broad day light and no one stopped to help...did that make any sense?

Entertainment is a heavily subjective point of view. Just ignore the bashers, because if I'm bashing a film, I usually don't find it entertaining.

It needs to make some sense within the context of its own universe. Its not as much plot points that piss me off more than character decisions. If a character decides something that is completely irrational, that's what sets me off. I can ignore a couple plot holes.

What the frick does that have to do with anything?

On the IMDB boards there are tons of people who are like that. Even for a comedy like The Office, people just complain and knit pick the show's details instead of just enjoying it for what it is.

I'm all for analyzing, dissecting, and even voicing complaints about certain aspects of movie/television, but some people just complain in order to seem like they're smarter than the writers when in fact they are no talent hacks that can do nothing but think of irrelevant details to complain about on the internet. I don't know how they go through life in such s state of mind, it must be horrid.

Welcome to the Movie Board.

I understand your point. But sometimes it's just part of the fun of watching movies to make fun of the more outrageous scenarios. Heck, I remember doing that with old Godzilla movies when I was like 10 years old.

And part of the fun of the MTV Board is to bounce our thoughts about movies and tv shows off one another.

Never really followed any of the trailers for The Grey or know who is in it so I can't comment on that one. What about the actors or the trailers appeal to you?

This reminds me of a posts I used to make on here.

I succumbed to the critiquing of movies though. While all of us agree with you to some degree, just consider this: If a person has spent time going through and thinking about/analyzing a movie then it has provided at least that amount of entertainment and beckons thought after the picture has ended.

Caveat: unless the thought afterwards is due to being unclear and trying to make sense of that lack of clarity.

Also, I read your whole post in my head as Cheech Marin's voice from his "pussy lovers" speech in From Dusk Til Dawn.

I am outraged that there are people whose tastes differ from my own!

YEARGH!!!

BTW – I love discussion and disagreement. It helps clarify what I like and dislike about a movie, and there’s enough smart, interesting people on this board with strong points of view who have genuinely shaped my opinion not only on films I had already seen, but films in general. They’ve changed how I watch movies, and that’s awesome.

But yeah, the guy bashing Neverending Story can die in a fire…
