He is turning 13 and I was thinking of getting him a Nintendo DS. I want to stay away from the 3DS because I've heard it has terrible battery life. Any suggestions as to which one to get him? Games?

TIA

3DS

Makes me go cross eyed!

I've consulted my 14 year old nephew. He simply said "Super Mario"

Don't know if that's any help. Good luck.

I'd get him a box of condoms before its too late. Too much gaming could become an addiction. Believe me, i would know.

The main reason I'd recommend a 3DS over a DS is all the big new handheld Nintendo games will be on 3DS only (with the exception of Pokemon this fall). There's a new Mario game coming out this August, and it's only on 3DS.

Couple that with the fact that the 3DS can play every DS game too, all your bases are covered.

Game Gear lasted about 2 hours on 6 AAA batteries when I was a kid. A 3DS can last 5-8 hours on a charge. It's a non-issue.
