Brought the kids to Madagascar 3 and got to thinking about this:
Fred Flinstone and Barney Rubble are supposedly based upon Cramden and Norton from the Honeymooners.
It seems that the four main characters in Madagascar mirror the Seinfeld main cast of four - neurotics with Jerry/Lion, George/Giraffe, Elaine/Hippo and Kramer/Zebra.
Also, are Mitchell and Cam from Modern Family based upon Timon and Pumba from The Lion King?
Any others..?

No, they are based on Bert and Ernie.

I must've missed the episode where Seinfeld and friends snorkeled from Africa to Monte Carlo. Why can't you just snorkel on to NYC if you have those kinds of skills?
Interesting comparison. You read that somewhere or just conjecture on your part?

Have not read it anywhere, but 3 male and 1 female quirky New Yorkers seemed familiar...
