So when Tywin decides to head out of Harrenhal, he says he's riding against Robb, then shows up at King's Landing... why? Did he say this because he knew Arya was a Stark and wanted to throw her off?

I kind of figured that he figured out she was a missing Stark, or perhaps a Northern spy, and wanted to throw off Robb by feeding her false information and leave her in Clegane's clutches, but she GTFO right after he left.

Thoughts?

I'm pretty sure he said they were going to march south.

Reference: LINK

Says he's riding out at 1:15 after discussing Robb with his council, then Arya freaks out and tries to get Jaqen to kill him because she doesn't want Tywin to ride against Robb.

He just says he's riding out. Doesn't say he's specifically riding towards Robb Stark, especially since he notes that Stannis is just outside of King's Landing.

I don't know that he knows she's Arya Stark. I think he knows she's from the North and is not just some lowborn welp. I'd think if he knew she was Arya that he'd keep her with him because of her value.

If he knew she was a Stark there's no way he leaves her behind.

He never knew or suspected Arya was a Stark, although he knew she was not some lowborn girl either.

I thought he was going to fight against Robb Stark, cant remember if he said he was or if I assumed he was, but when he showed up at King's Landing, I figured he changed his mind. He maybe could have been trying to throw off Arya, who maybe he thought was a spy but I doubt it, would have been difficult for her to get the message out anyway.

That clears everything up. I just didn't catch why he chose to head to King's Landing after being riled up about Robb.

I figured he was heading to King's Landing simply because all roads end there when it comes to their enemies. And a strong Stannis army was a far bigger threat with Stark's army split up because of Winterfell.
