It's a shame taxes will eat up half of it before it's all gone.

I kind of thought his contract would be bigger.

Williams signed a 54 Million contract with the Texans a few years ago...but he was #1 overall pic.

DL get paid well in the NFL

This is just under 4 Million per year, which is big money...15 Million over 4 years just sounds low for first round money

You realize the nfl has capped the rookie contracts since Williams signed that big deal, right?

Rams got a good deal for him.. they have a pretty stout DL already. I hope he beats out the others and learns quickly.

So much wrong here.
Rookie wage scale and the signing bonus doesnt get added to his 9.5 mil contract to make it 15. Thats included in the 9.5

Its like the NBA, every draft spot has a certain cap to it to limit how much rookies can make so basically each draft picks contract is mostly set. Its to reduce how much rookies are getting paid and to reduce the number of rookie holdouts

Cam Newton only got a 22 million dollar contract as the Top pick last year and Luck will get something very similar.

The only things that are negotiated in rookie contracts now are small BS things and the signing bonus
