May be buying a pontoon boat

Is it possible to get something reliable for 4-5k? I don't want something that is going to break down every other time I use it. Also, what are some of the better brands to look for?

ive been suffering thru this myself for the past couple of months... Everything i was looking at was in the 25-35k range, unfortunately.... i think thats just too much for another place to cook burgers and drink beer at... jmo,,, at least im trying to make it jmo...

Why are these things so expensive? It's his a couple pontoons, a floor and a small motor with some seats on top.

I have had friends that have bought used pontoon boats in your range and been satisfied. They certainly weren't the newest or nicest but they ran and got them out on the water.

My in-laws just gave me and SO a pontoon boat, but it needs new seats and console. I am going to replace those in the next few weeks. I really don't know if I want to keep it or sell it.

My father inlaw has one. It a lowe brand and is like 24 feet long. It has a 90 hp motor. It would need a tune up and some work on the console's. He has some new consoles for it but has not installed it. It has been sitting up for 3 years under a shed at the camp. He will let it go and I think someone could get a good deal on it.
