LSU's record against the 3 SEC teams in Omaha - 7 wins, 2 losses
Posted by WacoTiger on 6/11/12 at 9:31 pm00
Little consolation, but LSU swept Arkansas and beat UF and SC 2 games to 1. I think we peaked too early. Still proud of my Tigers and I will support them win or lose! Tomorrow is another day.

ETA: This in no way ends the anguish of defeat

I really liked our record against the Gumps in football. Until it really mattered.
Here's hoping Stony Brook proves legit and that they are not overmatched by UCLA. I don't want this super regional to look any more embarrassing than it already does.

SB will hit anybody in the CWS, but they will face teams that are not anemic at that plate. Ought to be interesting...

i'm guessing that sb will prolly hit vs these teams but how teams hit sb pitching will be telling....

UCLA's starting pitching is pretty damn good.....their first guy is every bit as good as Nola and then a little.
We got swept at Auburn and lost 2/3 at home to App. St. Early and Vandy late in the season.
We won more SEC games than any other team in a very tough conference. But we simply did not hit in the super regionals and we got beat by a hot team that hit in all 3 games.

LSU91MBA,
I couldn't have said it better.

LSU record against Stony Brook, 1-2, and that's the only one that counts now. Consolation? What are we in Little League? Did they hand out participation medals after the game yesterday?

It's incredible how well this LSU team competed in SEC play given all their inherent weaknesses. It took a lot of heart and guts to win the SEC title, which I certainly didn't think they would do at the beginning of the season. A very well deserved title for the Tigers.

Also, I feel somewhat better now that Kent State beat Oregon to advance to the CWS, which definitely seems like a bigger upset in my mind.
If only we had faced an opponent with an offense like Baylor's...

Right. What you do in the regular season doesn't matter, we learned this in football (except in baseball, you actually earn your way into a championship)
