How do I find a video card that is compatible

I'd like to be able to able to play Battlefield 3. Doesn't need to be ultra settings or anything. Will any video card work? I read something about having to change the power supply for some cards.
Here is the what my comp has now.
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
System Manufacturer: Dell Inc.
System Model: Inspiron 570
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) II X4 630 Processor (4 CPUs), ~2.8GHz
Memory: 6144MB RAM
DirectX Version: DirectX 11
Card name: ATI Radeon HD 4200
Manufacturer: ATI Technologies Inc.
Display Memory: 2940 MB
Dedicated Memory: 252 MB
Shared Memory: 2687 MB
Current Mode: 1920 x 1080 (32 bit) (60Hz)

Also, is it hard to install? Only thing I've ever done to a computer is to add ram, and that was on a laptop.

Good video cards need a 600w power supply (generally)
Check your power supply, a sticker will tell you what it is.
A video card is easy to install. A new power supply will be a tad bit trickier.
Basically youd have to disconnect each power cable, unscrew the psu, screw in the new psu, add the gfx card to the PCI slot, reconnect each power cable, and connect the new power cable to the top of the gfx card.
sounds tougher and more overwhelming than it really is.

I have a feeling your psu is under 500 and if that's the case you won't be able to run the high end v cards. Any v card should work unless you have some strange MOBO.

Yea it was cheap. Maybe 600. Wasn't planning on playing games on it when I got it, just got it for the wife to use for school.

Only sticker I can find is on the power chord itself, and it just says 125 volt, 10 amp.
Guess I'll just get a video card, and try to look at the power supply when I open the case.

You can get a good powersupply and a good video card for about 225-250 or so off the net.

600 or 650w psu, and about a $150 video card should do the trick.
If you are handy with a screwdriver, really the only talent you need. Its not tough at all.

its tough, but if my dumbass can do it, anyone can. Just unplug one at a time, trace it back to the new unit, and do that for each wire. Worked for me
