Is this where the Caddo DA M16's came from?

Nearly 3 months ago there was a dust up between the Caddo Parish Prator and the Caddo Parish DA's office when the DA obtained numberous weapons, including M16's, withought the Sheriff's knowledge or permission. Here's the thread if you're interested.

I don't recall ever seeing it reported exactly where the weapons came from or how the story ended. OTOH, I may have missed this as I don't read the "Shreveport Times" very often.

I came across this artice today and wondered if the weapons may have come from the Department of Defense. Short version, the DoD is suspending the program until a full accounting is made by the states. Nearly $500 million of property was distribued in 2011 alone.

ETA: As predicted earlier, the fired ex-investigator of the DA's office indeed fired a "whistleblower" law suit.
