I'm hearing that no it will not be served due to it being an NCAA policy. WTF is LSU regular season play not NCAA sanctioned? God I hope this is not true. If so I may gives these Club 1 level seats away.

Why? Weren't they serving beer last weekend? You can't leave the club with it and I think the club is technically a TAF owned part of the stadium or something like that.

Beer was not served in the champions club last weekend.

I thought no alcohol was allowed at NCAA events? They didn't have any beer or anything for the regionals. There probably won't be anything for these games either.

Why?

It's tricky, that's how.

The suites "pre-purchased" all of their alcohol, so they are able to have it for the post-season. The club level sells on a game-by-game basis, therefore the alcohol sales are cut off for this weekend and last weekend.

This is incorrect. It's up to each conference, not the NCAA.

I'm trying to figure out rationalizations for this rule, but I'm coming up short. Any help?

BS. Many bowl games sell beer.

Lots of college stadiums have private "club" areas and are allowed to serve beer.

Yep, but you can buy beer and such at all Tulane home games...so, it just depends on the conference.

Yeah, but bowl games aren't put on by the NCAA like regional and supers are. The guy working in the suite told me that alcohol can't be SOLD at these events. So maybe the smaller suites that already have the alcohol purchased can still use that because it isn't being sold.

Keep in mind, its not an LSU home game, we're just hosting an NCAA event.

Are you going for the game or for overpriced alcohol?

this is all correct. the suites had to pre-purchase enough alcohol for all of regionals and supers before post season play even started (some suites ran out before even reaching Supers in 2009 ) so therefore they never actually had to "purchase it" during postseason play

Club therefore cannot sell alcohol

and it is an NCAA rule, during regular season it is up to conference, but this is LSU hosting an NCAA event (Bowl games are not NCAA events)

God forbid that you should subject yourself to the inhumane treatment of having to watch a sporting event without beer. Whatever is this world coming to?

Another interesting note: someone in my suite brought in a canned beer and the guy working the suite came outwhere he was sitting and gave him a cup to pour it in. So, they're not nazis about it.
