Please respond with website for vacation homes.

VHFR.com or something like that? Help here would be greatly appreciated.

Also what area Ala/Fla should I look at? we will drive in from S. LA and have never been.

Thanks again

Bama: Orange Beach or Ft Morgan.

Or if you're a baller then Ono Island

To buy or rent?

If you're renting VRBO.com

The further east you go, the prettier the water IMO.

In order of proximity to LA:
Fort Morgan, AL
Gulf Shores, AL
Orange Beach, Al
Perdido Key, FL
Pensacola, FL
Destin, FL
Panama City, FL

All places I've stayed and were nice. Gulf Shores/Fort Morgan/OB/Perdido are nice because of the distance.

Destin is probably the nicest beach/water, but a little further.

Panama is nice when its not around Spring Break/Senior trip time.

Fort Morgan is technically closer to LA but it takes longer to get there than GS..

We went to Long Boat Key, FL last year and it was pretty spectacular. We had a house right on the water.

It isn't commercialized like Destin and it's pretty quiet.

Also, if you want to do Disney it's only a couple hour drive over. We went and spent the day there and came back to the house.

Also, the house was much cheaper that a house in Destin.

I have used both VBRO and Homeaway when I go to the keys. Be carefull with mass info request on both sites, several owners have their homes on both and you will end up asking the same person the same question several times. Always ask price because the listed price is usually incorrect

Siesta Key in FL is nice as well, just south of sarasota

And make sure you understand the renter's policy on taxes, cleaning fees and deposits (refundable/non-refundable).
