He likes rettig fwiw...As the other thread stated about him having a "hard on" for LSU is 100% correct. He knows his commitment to UT wasn't completely thought out hints the decommittment UT is still a player and will be until NSD obviously but LSU definitely leads right now by a wide margin. If he ends up at anywhere but LSU I'd be completely shocked.

how do you know all of this?

I've met him a couple of times and a few of my good friends are very close to him.

A few weeks ago you said he was all texas in the thread that said he was not a done deal to UT; hopefully your friends are right this time.

they asked him a while back if he was still all UT and he told them well as of now. which was what i said in the thread. but from all the stuff he's told them i'd feel confident in landing him but as everyone knows that can change. Especially with scott drew trying to get him for basketball.

I have no idea what he's looking for elsewhere. Decomittment was because he wants to make sure he makes the right choice and doesn't regret it. He's told them he likes campus and coaches and the family atmosphere. Same that a lot of the recruits like

This was food for thought on Scout today. Their "national analysts" (Scott Kennedy, Chad Simmons, Allen Trieu, Greg Powers, Bob Lichtenfels, Greg Biggins and Brandon Huffman) answered these questions for this free piece: LINK

Is de-committing a trend on the rise, and if so, is it a problem for the game? Or is it a natural consequence that offers some added intrigue to the recruiting process?

Recently Hassan Ridgeway(2012) and Daeshon Hall(2013) have both visited A&M without getting dropped.

They visited after committing?

Yes. Right before NSD for Ridgeway and Hall visited Baylor and A&M just a few weeks ago.

That is interesting, he would just throw away something that has been extremely effective

This. How could any recruit ever drop Texas for another school? That is so blasphemous that those other teams must be cheating

I think it just depends on the circumstance..and in reality whether a player of equal talent can be brought in to take your place.

Ridgeway was getting the butterflies before NSD and the Aggies were selling him on depth chart and playing time...kid was confused
and decided to sneak into College Station for a last minute visit. After talking to the coaching staff they understood and didn't hold it against him.
Too big of a talent to basically drop and gift wrap to the Aggies.

Hall reassured the staff that he was solid, yet it's still a long ways before NSD.

I'm pretty certain the Texas staff and Mack don't feel that way or we would back off in his recruitment...that is not the case w/RSJ.

Could be the influence of the former SEC coaches on Mack's current staff. It's the win at all costs attitude you have to develop to be competitive right now. We can't blame it on LeBron (he never played here) so we put it on Saban.
