Kings Kove youth fishing rodeo

2nd Annual Kings’ Kove Youth Fishing Rodeo
Saturday June 16, 2012
1st, 2nd, 3rd prizes per category per age grouping
Prize for largest fish
5 categories of fish: Bass, Catfish, Crappie, Bream, Trash
This is held in Amite..take I55 to Amite, turn left on Duncan (over RR tracks), continue down Duncan till you arrive at Kings Kove.
Rules: 1. Fishing will be with parent/ guardian at all times; from the bank; no boats.
2. Youth under the age of 14 must wear U.S. Coast Guard approved safety vest when near the water.
3. Fishing shall be with poles or rods with artificial or live bait. No cast net, trot line, or trolling permitted.
4. Fishing period from 7:30 AM until 11:30 AM; fish to be weighed and measured by committee members.
5. Federal, state, and local laws must be observed; any unsportsmanlike conduct will be cause for removal from competition and possibly the area.
6. Intoxication by parent, guardian, or contestants will be deemed unsportsmanlike conduct.
7. The Rodeo Committee is the sole interpreter for the contest; all situations not clearly written down will be decided by the Committee.
8. Contestants must be under 18 and registered prior to fishing; Registration is $10 per youth.
Pre-registered contestants must check in prior to fishing.
9. A maximum 5 fish may be weighed in by each contestant, for each of 5 categories. Ties will be broken by weight of largest fish, and then length of fish.
10. It is the responsibility of each contestant to read and understand the competition rules prior to fishing.
11. Sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses and chairs and pop-up cover are recommended. No pets.
12. Food and drinks will be available.
