OK I grew up watching Ronnie play at LSU. I dont really know where the hell Lyn is from. IMHO they both need to shut up and call the game. I muted the TV last night and watched it in silence because I couldnt take anymore of there rambling ons about nothing. Yes if you have watched LSU baseball for any length of time you know who Scott Shultz was. No need for 3 innings of talk about a guy that played 16 years ago. Just needed to get that off my chest. Ill hang up and listen.

I'd rather them then Jim tell me the ball is getting out of the park only to find out the guy catches it at the track.

I've come to find that baseball is a slow game and given enough games in a short period of time, they kind of have to go and talk about unrelated things. Watch a local station for a MLB team and you will actually appreciate Rollins and Rantz. In MLB they have 162 games to call and they get into some serious personal stories and such. With a 3 hour game its hard to keep talking on the same thing.

Well he better and you should too. He's part of the reason you got to watch the games on TV this weekend.

I don't normally watch baseball.... only did so because it was an important LSU game. I thought Lyn Rollins and Ronnie Rantz were great.

My biggest gripe about the game? I think the top of the 10th inning was a travesty. I'll never be a baseball fan because crap liking taking 10 minutes to substitute a new pitcher after every batter is really, really annoying.

These days a ball that makes it to the track looks crushed so it's not really a big deal imo.

didn't Lyn call Alex Box "Tiger Stadium" last night? good times.

and Jim on that near HR in the 10th...i had no idea what was going on because he just stopped talking. sometimes he forgets that he has a job and turns into a speechless spectator. pretty annoying

Yeah, but I'd rather them get off topic as long as they don't get me thinking we have a HR only to find out the pitcher caught the ball.

yeah, but you have no clue what's going on if you are only listening to him. I remember last year, I turned on the radio to see the score of a baseball game. 20 minutes later, Hawthorne finally says the inning and score. It was ridiculous. the only think I knew was that the inning was taking forever.

I personally thought they did a great job in the regional.

Also remember, they were trying to stay as "partial" as possible with the feed being picked up in Oregon.

I think Rantz and Rollins are great.

Lyn comes from a radio background, so he can get a little wordy for TV.

Both are great calling baseball, very knowledgable, and fair to the opposing teams.

Rollins is a true professional and Rantz is very good IMO.

I wish Rollins or frankly anyone but Hawthorne was our football Play by Play guy. Hawthorne is OK with baseball, but I simply cannot stand him for football. Way too negative!

So you think Jumbo was able to pick up all the games without having some financial backers? Sochem was on just about every commercial break along with sponsoring innings and shite.
