Not shocking at all. Looks like Baltimore is going to decide the fourth and fifth picks

Please let this happen. I'm fine with any of Buxton, Correa, and Zunino for the Mariners but I like them in that order.

I'll update the OP with latest Mock Drafts from the experts (Callis of BA, Goldstein of BP, Law of ESPN, etc.) as they come out later tonight and into the morning.

Zunnio is still going to go in top 10?

I guess scouts werent turned off by his rough year in the SEC?

Giolito is certainly the wild card

Giolito and Fried, both top ten talents, both go to Harvard Westlake.

Goldstein says he's hearing some teams are on Giolito who was the #1 prospect prior to hurting his elbow.

I guess I'm ok with Appel but he's not my favorite of the top 5 guys. Appel is the safe pick. I'd prefer they go with the higher ceiling guys in Correa or Buxton.

While Appel is a very talented pitcher, him a 1.1 is more of an indication of the relatively weak talent pool in this draft. The way I see it, Appel is your typical top 10 drafted pitcher. So he's not some "can't miss" prospect like Strasburg. You can find one in next years draft. Buxton and Correa represent risks but imo they're the better talents.

Giolito

He was the guy I wanted before his injury. He had a legitimate shot at going 1.1. He chose not to have surgery and instead rehabbed his injury so I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up needing Tommy John in a year or two.

Appel's ceiling is that of a strong #2, imo

Like you said, a weak class this year.

I think Correa, Giolito, and Zunino are the elite prospects in this Draft in terms of highest ceilings.

This is a weak arse draft class. Any of last years top like 6 probably go number 1 this year. Zunnio being in the discussion for the top ten is more of a product of the class sucking

Who you think the Braves are going to draft at 21? I'm hoping for someone like Gallo or Dahl? But knowing the Braves they will probably take a pitcher

Roche makes sense. Would not mind taking a chance on Gallo. So probably some low ceiling college pitcher

Eta: I would love for giolito to fall but I don't see that happening

What are your thoughts on Stroman?

Best stuff in Draft, but height is a huge concern at 5'9" and projects as a future reliever.

I wouldn't touch a reliever in the 1st

Yea I would not touch a reliever in the first. Craig Hansen, Casey weathers, Ryan Wagner etc.
