Has anyone been to the delta, Clarksdale area before. Just curious if it is worth a trip up there I know they have the delta blues museum and Morgan Freeman's place Ground Zero.

I went to college with some boys from the Delta. They were musicians and would play at a bar called One Block East. I think it was in Greenville?

Plan your trip around a festival maybe or go to Tunica and/or Memphis and make the drive. Otherwise, all you'll see is poverty. Sure they have some stops, but for the most part, it's not a destination place.

i think it is a destination place if that's the experience you are going for. yeah, it is just country farmland and not much to see, but when i went it was for the purpose of going to clarksdale... the museum (which was really cool, and also was being added onto) was 10 bucks or so.

wish i had more time to look around and actually get to see some acts....wanted to hit po monkeys down in merigold, but i was rolling with my grandma and had to get her back home. did grab lunch at the ground zero blues club though.

i will go back again one day for longer. i agree with going while there is a festival of some kind though....that's my plan so i can stay a few days in the area and absorb the history. it's truly amazing the list of musicians that came out of there.

I live here, not it Clarksdale, the delta. The delta is a fun place if you enjoy a laid back lifestyle, music, farming, etc. It's just not for some people, but some people think it's some amazing mystical place... There are a few good places to hang out. I can't really help you there, other than the obvious spots that people always talk about. I also agree that coming when there's a festival would give you a little more to do and see.
