I know a lot of you are good at analyzing game times based on other games being played - thoughts on the Washington game? Trying to determine what time to book a flight on 9/8.

TIA

I'd bet $100,000 it will be a night game on ESPN or ESPN2.

nothing is set, but it will be a night game.

I would guess night. When was the last big OOC day game?

Day games are based on SEC CBS contract.

I hope you're right. Nothing better than night games in TS.

We played (and lost to) Notre Dame in a nationally televised day game in 1998 in TS.

Have there been any major (I don't count Appalachian State, for example) home OOC games during the day since then?

I don't think so. The 98 ND game was in South Bend, '97 was in BR.

Since then, these are all I can think of in Tiger Stadium and all at night:

WVU
VT
Arizona
OSU

Yep, my bad. So last major home OOC day game appears to be 1997. That's quite a long time. I seem to recall more home day games against OOC opponents in the 1980's and 1990's (e.g. FSU, Miami, Ohio State).

Thanks everyone, I am hoping all of you are right and it is a night game. Really don't want to book a crack of dawn flight for a day game but do not want to miss the game. I am going to book a mid morning flight and keep my fingers crossed for a night game!

The Notre Dame game in 97 was late in the year and was on CBS.

We don't have to worry about that this early in the season.

Was a cold debacle! Didn't we return the favor in I-Bowl a month after?
