The Spurs in Tony Parker's last 50 starts

Just heard one of the more amazing stats I can think of:
In the past 50 games Tony Parker has started, the Spurs are 46-4
To win the title, the Spurs just need to go 6-6 the rest of the way.
This team is unreal.

The Spurs have lost 4 games since March 9th
The Thunder have to beat them 4 times in the next 5 games.
thats nutso

I never liked the Spurs much but why does he automatically get listed behind CP and DWill when it comes to PG rankings when they have never won anything?

But your greater point does speak to the hypocrisy of guys always propping the "LOOK AT THE RINGS" argument for some guys, but not for Tony Parker.

3 reasons, with 1 kind of changing
1. dwill/paul are "pure" point guards. the position is judged in terms of this ability. however, this is changing with the new NBA rules and the proliferation of scoring points (rose, westbrook, parker, etc)
2. he's typically just not as good as dwill/paul. this was his best year of his career, though
3. titles are team stats. parker won some titles when duncan was at his peak. at least 1 of these titles involved seasons when pop was pretty much always angry at parker for how he was playing, also

well that's not exactly accurate.

Because he's not flashy about it. He's the best PG in the game... his team record and individual stats prove that.

I can't argue that. CP gets listed at 1-2 but has never been to a conference finals and has a great disappearing act when he wants to.

They can play .500 ball and still win the title.

his team record and individual stats prove that
Is Duncan the best PF in the game this season? His team record says so. Ginobli, best SG as well?

Have you seen his stats compared to Chris Paul's?

Have you?
Tony Parker:
MPG - 32.0 PPG - 18.3 APG - 7.7 FG% - 0.48
CP3:
MPG - 36.4 PPG - 19.8 APG - 9.1 FG% - 0.478
CP3 wasn't better in the regular season and def wasn't close to the level Parker has played in the post season.
You need to consider the minutes each of them played per game.
Parker had more points per minute and CP3 barely had more assists per minute.

They are going to win it all. Good for them.

Why'd you leave out rebounds and steals?
And that barely touches on defense, Paul is definitely a better defender.
Per 36:
Paul: 19.6/9.0/3.5/2.5 steals
Parker: 20.5/8.7/3.2/1.1
Pauls PER was 27 to Parker's 22.
You can't really say based on the numbers that Parker was better.

when parker's mid-range is on, jesus christ he's unstoppable.

He was 5th in the MVP voting.
That stat is incredible, though. I can see that as a reason for people to vote him #2 behind LeBron this year. After all, MVP voting doesn't necessarily mean anything.

I'll give steals to CP3 but rebounds is just a function of Griffin sucking dick in that category.
Parker doesn't have to go after rebounds like CP3 does.
Either way, when it matters, Parker is a lot better than CP3.
