Just passed AUD, and now I'm scheduled to sit for FIN in late July. Any tips on best ways to study for it ? I'm using Becker.

Just follow the Becker material if it fits your learning style.

I pounded out all 4 exams within 3 months including studying with Becker. Just do the questions and exams. Read the chapters a few times. May be overkill but I passed em all the first time and didn't have to worry abt the exams anymore.

Good luck

That's impressive! Thanks for the tip. I haven't taken a financial accounting class in 10 years so this part is going to be a real PITA!

Work practice questions over & over until you get sick. Then repeat until it's time to take that section.

Becker...I passed AUD studying about 3 hours a night for 27 days. Working on BEC as I type...sitting May 31.

I slacked off and went on a two-week study plan with Becker....Lectures..read chapter...answer all questions. Repeat read chapter then take the exam. That's my plan.

FAR is a beast though...only advice is to study hard...at least 1 month at 3-4 hours a day.

I HAVE to assume you don't work 10 hour days and have small kids...

If you do....DAMMMMMMM....THAT is amazing!

That would be a correct assumption

Wasn't even working. Studied all day every day instead

I'm in this boat, about to start a new job that requires 50-60 hrs a week and have a wife and small child with another on the way. I'm sitting for FAR on July 31. :(

I HAD to set out a plan. It was 3 hours a day studying...period. For about 2 weeks I studied from 8pm (after kids went down) to 11pm. I then decided that got old and started coming into the office early and knock out 2 hours before 8am.

I sat for BEC without studying a drop and got humbled. Then started asking people who were passing just HOW much they studied....average was about 3 hours a day for 1-2 months. Geez.

Certified Management Accountant I'm told is much harder than CPA...and not to mention CFA....
