top 25 albums so far according to stereogum

If anyone is interested. I agree with their number 1. Can't say I have heard too many others on there though.

I'd put that up there, along with Born and Raised from John Mayer. Guarantee both will win actual deserved Grammy awards.

If you don't know who KIMBRA is, (shes the ft. on Gotye's Someone I Use to Know) here album dropped in the US this week VOWS. I've had the Australian version for a year. ITS FANTASTIC.

If you like Adele, you'll like this as well. Two Way Street is great.

You can Youtube her videos of songs from Sing Sing studio. They are all great. (I'd link, but youtube blocked on work network.)

I'm still trying to get into the new SSPU album, I just haven't given it enough of a chance. Which is weird because they are in my top two favorite bands right now. It just hasn't stuck with me like their old stuff.

I do enjoy that Alabama Shakes CD though.

I usually agree with you so I'll check it out.

Didn't know the Walkmen had a new one, so streaming that now.

I need to get the new Walkmen album. Hopefully they make a pass again through New Orleans on this tour.

Nice list. I recently saw Lotus Plaza and Spiritualized, and I've always been a fan of Chromatics, Beach House and Cloud Nothings.

Can I get an early start on the Beach House backlash? God, they bore the crap out of me.

I'll join in. After all the buzz with the last album, especially the sparse Beach Boys comparisons, I was sorely underwhelmed. This album sounds no different from what I have heard. Boring is right.

And all is right in the world post-Drive, haha.

A lot of people on here will disagree, but I feel the same way about Mumford and Sons. It just bores me so much and I don't know how to explain it.

Different strokes for different folks. Bloom was an alright album, but I enjoyed Teen Dream much more. I would still put Bloom in my top 10 for 2012 because, personally, I have been very underwhelmed with the new albums for this year. However, like Seaward already said, I think the new Animal Collective album will be special.

Same here, I look forward to hearing the new Walkmen and some of the other releases coming up this year, but so far this year it's almost a tie btw Lotus Plaza and Beach House for me, with "Bloom" by a nose. I do like the new Spiritualized better than their last few releases.
