I was offered to trade Freeman for Tex straight up. I have Fielder as my 1b, and either player would be a util player. In a one year season, I would jump on it in a hurry. The problem is Tex has already shown some regression in the BA category, and his age scares me in a true dynasty. I don't think Freeman will ever be a 40 hr guy, but he will be a high 20- 30 hr guy and have about a .280 average for a while. What do you think? What so you see as Freeman's ceiling?

Meh I doubt it. Top 10 probably

Tex is a slow starter. He's good for 35/100 year in and year out and will be good for at least 5 more year.

at this point i would rather have freeman.. altho tex seems to always be a slow starter.. who beasts it up in the 2nd half. altho im unsure how to feel about his chances this season.

Freeman is on pace for 27 HR and 123 RBI this. You ask what his ceiling is, I think it is 30 HR and 115-120 RBI. I dont think he will do that consistently. But some years could approach these figures

Teix over the last 8 years has averaged 36-117

He has 8 straight years of 30+HR and 100+ RBI

He's under contract for 4 more years with the Yankees, and that RF porch is mighty friendly too him. He is a guy that could maybe move to DH as he gets older if needed.

with that being said, Freeman is 10 years younger. I can see why he is appealing in a dynasty league. BUt I think Teix is still a pretty safe bet over the next 3-4 years.

Well price has a lot to do with it also; a $10 to $13 dollar Freeman for 3 or 4 yrs probably more valuable than a $34 Tex for 2yrs...

No prices. Just a complete dynasty league with minor league draft.

Freeman is the guy you want. His power is still developing. I think 30 HR years will be his average with him maxing out around 38. I still like Tex but I wouldn't take him over Freeman in a Dynasty league, and I don't overvalue youth either. Freeman has more value to those in your league that do.

You're already set with a ton of young players wiht a lot of upside right now. I would go with Tex

Also how did you end up with all those bats in a 12 team league? You have basically 7 second to third round type picks based on ADP coming into the year (Fielder, Pedroia, Reyes, Stanton, McCutchen, Bruce, Zimmerman).

It's a dynasty league. If the league is older, he could have acquired these players at different points in time along the way.

Yeah. I drafted Freeman and Stanton in minor league draft a few years ago. Drafted Mccutchen late when the league began about four years ago. Drafted Reyes and Mauer way too high at start of dynasty. Traded for Fielder, Zimmerman, Bruce, and Pedroia this year.

I have punted on the deal for right now. I know Tex starts slow, but he has been miserable. This league is too competitive to make too many trade mistakes (already did it with Gio and Encarnarcion).

Don't do it. Tex is on the decline.
