Nice find.

its amazing how much he was thrown at playing opposite of Mo. He has a lot of experience and will have a great year for LSU in 2012.

Overall he is a solid player. His coverage on deep routes is exceptional, but he needs to work on driving on shorter routes and improving his strength and tackling form.

is he a 1st round talent? I mean don't get me wrong I love the guy but I think he still has some ways to go. This video was good and bad. Not MC or PP good YET, but very well could be.

I will say I feel pretty good about him being our #1 CB.

It's almost like a system. CB #1 is feared and no one throws to him, picking on CB #2. CB #2 gains experience and is feared the following year.

One big difference between Simon and our last two conerbacks (Peterson and Mo) is that Simon doesn't snag the ball as well as they did. He has a lot of balls hit his hands, and doesn't hang onto them. Both Peterson and Mo had WR-like ability to come down with the ball if it was any where near them.

Hopefully Tharold hangs on to half a dozen balls this year - that would be huge.

I agree - and the good news is - the reps he got and the mistakes he made were great points to work on in the off-season.

It is much easier to teach a guy who has all of the physical tools to not only be great, but actually dominate (I think Peterson was in a different category, from a measureable and athletic standpoint he was freakish), as Simon, another guy who is legitimately 6'1" and change (listed as 6'3"), and approaching 200 pounds - will probably play in the 192 to 196 pound range - to work on jamming, driving, tackling, run support, short route reads, working with help short, but alone deep, etc., than to get a guy with perhaps great ball skills, but a comparative athletic/size deficit to run and jump with SEC WRs on the deep routes. Simon already has the hard part down (and more importantly, the uncoachable part), he just needs to work on the easier (but also very important) stuff.

I believe he is. You are right, he has to improve technically and maybe a bit athletically, but the talent and ability are there.

His real problem is that now he it the #1 cb following pp and mc. Tough spot to be in. If he can manage that pressure and continue to improve there is every chance he gets a first round pick.

Simon is every bit of a "pure" cover corner for anything over 15+ yards. He is not a physical, run stopping type of corner.

Simon needs to improve his burst, quickness, and aggresiveness. If he can do that, he will definitely transform into something spectacular.

I didn't watch the video, but how many dropped INT's were there. If he can intercept some of those passes, he will be a force to be reckoned with.

Tharold is a legit 6'3. I agree with the rest.
