from that link, seems i need to up my video card.

i like hardcore mode and dont want to die due to video lag

You should be good. I highly doubt D3 would phase a 550. Though you should get an ATI Radeon card instead. A&A work well together.

I think I'm gonna order the brand new G.Skill Trident X Series RAM. XMP ready for 3rd gen Intel/Z77 platform.

if i get the itch for a new video card i can always upgrade in the future... honestly im only lookin to play Diablo III for the immediate future

It's not risky.

You won't be crippling yourself somehow if you don't do both from the same manufacturer.

Yeah get the 560 it blows the 6850 away.
