Why is Gausman draft eligible?

sorry, been out of the baseball loop for awhile. but why is he eligible for the draft if hes only a soph??

Same thing happened with DJ LeMahieu
Depends on when you turn 21, there's a cutoff date and if your 21 before that date you are elibile for draft

And it isn't even close...DJ turned 21 within a specific number of days after the draft. Kevin turned 21 this past January so he is eligible.

Yep, gotta be a Jr or 21 at a 4 year. That's why some of those guys go JUCO so they can leave at any time.
