Pretty simple premise. All power mysteriously shuts down in 2012. Cars, planes, tvs, phones, etc.. all done.

Picks up 15 years later and some people have to trek across the country to figure out what happened or something.

I'll give it a shot but the preview makes it look like this show isn't as dark as I'd like it to be but I'm a sucker for post-apocolyptic type stuff so there's that.

Dude, it's from Kripke and Abrams, it's going to kick butt! Too bad the last time Bad Robot tried anything on NBC we got this:

Complete anarchy within a few days if real life. Once the groceries and gas run out, grab your fricking guns.

This show actually looks like it could be really good.

I can't see your link at work, but IMDB has a four minute preview/trailer that gives a much better impression than the shorter ones I've seen.

And Jon Favreau is directing.

I'm ready for Bad Robot to do something on HBO or Showtime and not network tv.

Exactly. When I say I'd like something darker, I'm talking a situation like the movie The Road. I know that's asking a bit much from NBC but it would kill in the ratings. That daughter from the preview would be getting raped every 3 minutes in a true reality like this.

Didn't even realize that. That definitely makes it more interesting to me.

Just watched the video...looks interesting, but DAMN all the women look like they just got ready to go out. I wouldn't think all the makeup and hair would be that well maintained after 15 years of no electricity.

The biggest problem you face with doing something on HBO or Showtime is an extremely tight budget, that only gets smaller. Right now Network TV stations just have more money... still.

Here's hoping for it to change soon!

This show will fail where other Lost copycats failed as well - the characters look uninteresting and generic and it willed be filled with countless plot holes that will go unexplained.

Didn't think about that. I would just like to see them do a show with a 10-15 episode season. No MOTW episodes.

ETA: I guess we do get to see that with season 5 of fringe

You might be right about the characters, but there is something ingriguing about post apocalyptic scenerios. At least to me.

You do realize that Bad Robot ditched the LOST mentality pretty quickly after the last season of LOST began to air.. right?

Even Fringe has taken on the "let's just show you how awesome this world is, instead of making you questions everything" mindset as of late. As for plot holes, yeah, I have never seen a show with as many plot holes as I've heard LOST has.. so I feel safe with Bad Robot as of late. (not to mention they have really been bringing in some huge A team writers for their shows as of late)

Might be decent, but it looks like they went a bit too far with the premise of what all losing power would take out. Not all people are going to suddenly lose all their glocks, revolvers, and rifles and have to go back to bows and flintlocks. I doesn't require electricity to make bullets.

And with Abrams involved I kinda doubt the reasoning behind the blackout would hold up well, but I'll probably check it out and see how it goes, I love me some post apocalyptic stuff. And Supernatural was pretty awesome with Kripke running it.

This fall.

Wouldn't an EMP take out any form of electronics? Most cars rely on some form of electronics right? I guess there could be some classics running around but we'll see.
