timely hitting and hitting for extra base hits is a bigger problem... and the defense seems to be a weak point, imo

obligatory " lot of baseball left to play" post.

If defense becomes our weakness, we're in trouble.

I agrees totally with the timely hitting. No doubt about it. Don't agree at all with the defense. Losing Ross hurt us badly.
FWIW, one of the dad's of one of the pitchers told me that Eades's arm is tired. We will have to rely on Bourgeois, Broussard, Bonvillian, Cotton, McCune come tourney time.

If that's true, then we need to be getting one of them more work as a starter.

No doubt. There has been rumbling about this already. Hanagriff and Ott were also talking about it this morning.

Gentlemen, you have to realize that what this team has accomplished so far is amazing. The talent level on this team, with the exception of a handful of players, is average at best.
This is what I kept thinking watching this team this weekend. I think a couple of guys had bad weekends. Who would have thought Goody would not only lose a lead but then give up the go ahead run. I thought Aaron Nola battled well but didn't get the help he needed and Eades just has to be tougher. Hanover should have fielded that ball and no runs would have scored but you have got to let it go and bear down (and keep the ball down). But back to my response to dreamer, I think we have Gausman, Austin Nola is really doing well, and a couple of young arms with "potential" and of course Rhymes (despite the bad weekend) but I think we are just a team that overachieves and guts out wins. I appreciate the fight in them but we are a team that can't afford to beat ourselves.
