Honestly I thought we'd already offered him. Don't think it shows Bama's hand in any way though since they want 2 QBs but it does kind of kill the thought on the SEC board that they know which 2 QBs they'll be getting. Thomas wasn't one of those.

Oklahoma has to be considered the favorite but even they have offered Rettig since offering Thomas and their plan is 1 qb. Seems no one has a great read on who they're getting at QB. I love it aside from our fricking issues getting one.

I thought Bateman was going to Utah but then he left them off his list so I switched to Bama. Now I have no clue.

It seems like every player LSU offers, either already has a 'Bama offer or 'Bama decides to offer them after hearing LSU has made an offer. Is Saban a copycat or just trying to annoy LSU & get on the nerves of the LSU coaching staff?

Probably has more to do with both schools recruiting the same areas and when the kids are asked about which offers they've recieved lately. Nothing strange about seeing 20+ coaches at a kids school at the same time during this eval period.

I think it has more to do with the fact that we desperately need QB's than trying to annoy LSU. We are both struggling with our QB recruiting lately and with the recent transfer of Phillip Sims, it has made it an even bigger priority for Bama to get a top notch QB in this class. Without McCarron we are pretty much screwed in terms of a back up. That's why Saban is going around offering all of these QB's who also happen to be offered or recruited by LSU. JMO.

That's what I was wondering he was spoken highly of during the UA All-American game. I think he played pretty well

Stone-cold lock to Oklahoma. He's been wanting an OU offer the whole time. He finally got one a week ago and immediately named them his clear leader

Right now it's between Phillip Ely and incomig freshman Alec Morris so if McCarron ever goes down, we are fricked.

I read an article that mentioned him today in the Ft Worth Star Telegram. I looked him up on Rivals and wondered why LSU wasn't on him.

I wanted the other guy mentioned in the article. He committed to A&M.

Rivals is showing both offers.

also a potential 1st rounder in 2013 mlb draft. Great football player, but freakishly good on the diamond

He has said he won't play MLB unless they pay him a lot of money. The draft is coming up to in about 3 weeks so this should be known pretty quickly. I think the QB from A&M is more likely to be a 1st rounder.

That being said, I do hear he wants to play college baseball as well as football so that may influence a lot where he decides to go. I don't know how keen OU, LSU and Bama may be on him also playing baseball. I do know TCU doesn't have a problem with it. Obviously, all these teams have pretty good baseball programs so that part of it shouldn't be an issue.

Has LSU let their QBs play baseball in the past? I know they have at other positions.
