Me too. Will be there in 2 weeks. Can only eat so many pancakes and taffy though. Want to hear suggestions.

Everything out there is pretty much franchised. Cherokee Grill, which is a steakhouse, was pretty good.

The Peddler Steakhouse is pretty good. They even have sardines on the salad bar.

Just as I feared. What's the brewery? Smoky Mountain Brewery? I can go for the liquid diet, I suppose.

The Apple Barn in Pigeon Forge used to have an awesome breakfast and pretty good "county" fare for lunch and dinner. Also, they have a great "general" store where they sell unfiltered apple cider that taste like you're drinking a liquid apple. It's sublime!!!!! If you want to bring some back home, make sure you bring an ice chest. Since the cider is unfiltered and not pasteurized it is only sold frozen.

I passed through there last year and ate here: Taste of India

The food is probably on par with India's here. I figured it was my best shot in that tourist hell-hole to get any non-fried vegetables.

I'm sure it won't be hard to find some biscuits and gravy.

Dixie Stanpede actually had a pretty good meal with the show. It is a Cornish hen with some sides, it was probably the best thing I ate there.

Salad bar alone is worth a visit to the Park Grill.

A lot of chains, but a few are local chains. Bullfish grill is decent, Applebarn and The old mill are about the same as far as decent "country" fare but the apple barn is located on an apple orchard and is pretty cool during the summer to see all the apple tree's loaded down. The Peddler was good, and the Smokey Mountain Brewery was good.
Casual meal, can't beat the sweet tea and foot long corndog at Fannie farkles or a Reuben from
Cheese Cupboard & Hofbrauhaus.

The donut friar in Gburg is great, for something a little different than Krispy Kreme.

I always hit Smoky Mountain Brewery. Good pizza and beer right in Gatlinburg. If you are heading towards the park it is close to the park entrance on the left.
