10 team head to head pts league. Standard pts for hitters and 2 pts per IP, 10pts per win, -5 per loss, 10pts per SV, -5 per BS

Team 1 is 4-1 and in 1st place and has Pena and cuddyer he could play at 1b. Team 2 is 0-5 and has putz and Jansen as his closers. The trade is team one trades away Kimbrel to team 2 for pujols. The 2 teams claim there is no collusion going on but this trade smells of collusion. Would you veto pujols for Kimbrel in this situation? TIA

pujols is batting .197 10 runs scored 1 home run and 9 rbi's at the 1st base position. in 117 at bats.

wow pujols went 1/5 and 1/4 the past 2 days with 1 home run and he all of a sudden is a monster again?

he hasn't even posted a multi hit game since APRIL 19TH.. and only has a multi hit 3 games before then.

i am not sure i follow.. unless you are saying kimbrel is too good? it depends how you value closers. i value dominant ones extremely high.

kimbrel is currently 2nd in the entire MLB in saves and should be in contention for the most saves and k's for a closer in the NL.

please explain how it is unfair?

He's been terrible and has shown no signs of getting over it

At this point it's fair game

Fat Albert is done, there are at least 10 1B I take over Pujols. Kimbrel is the best closer, this is a no-brainer.

You can laugh, but you can't really dispute that Pujols is struggling bad.

If it isn't a keeper league, you dump him and find a replacement. Or wait all year to see if he gets better

Keeper league or not there is no way I would drop pujols unless he had a season ending injury. The guy was a top 3 pick and deserves to see if he can turn it around. I would definitely bench him and hope he starts to light up the AL pitching once he starts to get to see them and know their strategies against him. I understand that kimbrel is the best closers in the game right now but I would still try to get more value out of a top 3 pick first and if I cant get more value then I would make the trade for kimbrel.

I thought the no brainer line was a dead giveaway of sarcasm, guess not.

Adam Dunn was a 3rd-4th rd pick last year, prayers sent to the owners waiting on him to turn it around.

Pujols and Dunn were same age when changing leagues too.

Im not talking about dropping him, I'm talking about getting the best closer in baseball for him.

I dont disagree that kimbrel is the best closer in baseball right now but the guy already has 2 closers in a SP dominted league where most teams start 5 SP and 2 CL. My point was he could have shopped around pujols and tried to get more value like a a 2 for 1 deal for pujols. I agree that Pujols is not playing like a top 3 pick right now but I would sure as hell try to get more value for him 1st. Pujols is more than capable of turning it on at any given moment. Dude is a career 326 hitter and even in a down year last year still hit 299, 37 HR, and 99 RBI and I wouldnt trade that for a closer any day. Comparing Dunn to Pujols is dumb bc Pujols has been the model of consistency for his career putting up steller numbers in avg, hr, rbis, runs and even contributing to SB year in and year out while Dunn is strictly a HR/RBI guy but thats just my two cents
