Because people like me love it.
I would kill to be back in Baton Rouge right now with a margarita and an order of flat cheese enchiladas.
In all honesty, and mostly because I grew up on it, it is still my favorite Mexican food.

Family traditional patronage. I have gone there with my family my whole life, not about to stop now. If the closed the joint a part of my heart would go with it.

I'm a relative of the owners... probably have met some of y'all in there. I know they really appreciate the loyal customers who continue to visit. Not sure how much longer it can last but there's no doubt that it has a special place for many people.
and the meat nachos still stand as the best I've ever had

I'm a fan of many years of the Margaritas and beef nacho's.
It is what it is, and I would miss it if it were gone.

I have never eaten there but may have to give it a whirl after reading this thread. I hear the meat nachos are yummy.

Make sure you go during open mic night. It is very Twin Peaks-esque.

my mom and dad went every friday night for as long as I can remember 20+ years. Wife and I went a few years ago with them and it was horrible. Don't know what changed in the 10 years or so since I had been but man did it get bad.

Not the same since Ms Despo(spelling?) died years ago. But, from the 1970s to late 1980s, the margs, meat tacos, and nachos, all rocked.
The Pace-esque salsa always blew.
