Here's the crash course on the blazing path known as the LSU recruiting trail.

First let me preface by saying I thank Trent Johnson for the position he left LSU in, which was one needing a new coach. We all know that there are no good prospects out there available and we have no chance of filling some of the empty bench spots.

In Recent News :: ## !! @@

LSU has signed the number 8 and number 12 JUCO prospects in the country. The most recent is a 6-8 Post player.

There is also heavy, thick smoke coming from UNT that Odoh, a true 5, is leaning mightily towards signing with LSU (assuming UNT would release him, like two of their current players got released)

Did I mention he averaged double digit rebounds and almost 5 blocks a game last year?

Did I mention we are in the conversation with a 5* McDonalds All-American from Mississippi too?

All of this in what? 3 weeks? Get ready for an instant program turn around.

Coach Jones is putting in some MAJOR work.

You recruiting rookie, I obviously know this is discussed constantly on the recruiting board, by people like me.

I also know most ranters don't read the threads there.

I don't follow college basketball recruiting in the least bit. So let me ask, are any of the players that Jones has signed to date potential first round NBA selections, or are they simply solid college prospects?

That's good news, but rumors of good players committing is hardly reason to pop the cork yet.

I'm bringing my son to some games this year for the first time in a few, that's for sure.

TJ should have recruited jc players more often imo, considering all we lost from the SEC champions team.

Thinking average freshmen would fill those holes was just stupid.

We have signed 4 players, one was a top euro prospect, one was the number 8 JUCO player, the other was the number 12 player from JUCO, and the fourth is Malik Morgan, who we have a reason to be excited about.

That doesn't sound like rumors to me.

nah I don't spend money if I don' like the product. I do that from passing specific gas stations to choosing not to spend money on the product of late.

Being a student right now, we are obviously killing it in baseball and football but basketball can be freaking awesome when it's good.

Im all in.

I have a good feeling we will be fielding a team this year that can compete. Good things happening on the recruiting trail. I am looking forward to the JUCO guys, especially with the way Louisiana HS talents looks to be the next few years.

The 5* from MS hasn't committed. The transfer from UNT hasn't signed yet.

I know I'm raining on the parade, but I'm just sour over years of very promising recruits who turn out to be non-contributors. I'm glad for offseason hype. Honestly. I just reserve celebrating till there's a W on the scoreboard.

Yes, I'm just as much fun at parties.

did you miss the part where we have 4 signed, committed, well-regarded players on the roster now?

If we sign NO ONE ELSE, you are talking about a dangerous team in the SEC next year already. If yoiu land one more big, you are talking about a top 3 team in the SEC.
