If MVP Baseball really returns next year, thoughts on a "hybrid" game?

What would you think of them making a "hybrid" (for lack of a better term) game?
As in have a game mode where you start out as a HS senior/HS grad. Have to choose college or the pros, then start your career either going to school or in the minors.
I'm not sure if this could work from the rights issues and stuff like that, but in a purely hypothetical situation, do you think a game like that would sell?
I know for sure I'd buy it in a second.

i say make The Show even more deeper by adding college teams. it'll make the RttS more interesting. high school is too broad.

I'm just saying do like RTG in NCAA where you play like the playoffs or something from HS so you have a baseline for draft stock etc.

I would love something like that.
ETA: They could definitely do something small for the end of your high school baseball career like in RTG. They could set up the playoff bracket and randomize the city names, then do the semis and championship games in the big stadiums.

NCAA Baseball could have been an awesome game if EA actually cared to do it a few years ago. They didn't really put any time into it.
I wish they would bring it back and put all the stadiums, atmosphere, actual seasons, etc. To be honest, I'd rather 2K do rather than EA.

I think it would be cool if, at the high school level, they used your approach at the plate to determine what kind of hitter you were.

Is mvp really coming back? Serious question.

Pretty sure it's gonna be the major league one, not the college one.

The only reason they made a college game is b/c of that MLB contract with 2K. So yea when that expires I'm sure they'll go back to MLB. I just wish they'd throw a college aspect of the game into it (which btw may now happen with the talks of this whole MLB/NCAA partnership thing).
I just think it'd be really cool to take the The Show idea of working your way up and expanding it to the college level.

A lot of great ideas in this thread. I don't care about present day baseball but I do like the game's history.
I would love to play at Forbes Field, Ebbets Field, the Polo Grounds, Sportsman's Park, Crosley Field...
Plus I'd like to replay the following seasons:
1941 - Joltin Joe's 56 game hitting streak and Teddy Ballgame's .400 batting average.
1952 - Last season before franchise free agency.
1955 - Next Year finally comes to Brooklyn. Clemente's rookie season.
1968 - Year of the Pitcher.
1969 - First year with divisions, only year with the Seattle Pilots, the Amazin' Mets.
1979 - The Fam-A-Lee wins the World Series.

I just read that 2K's "third party" contract is set to expire this year. So it could happen. Is this why the show was able to be developed since it was a first party?

Yea I think that's right... Will be interesting to see if MVP could compete with The Show if MVP returns in 2013
