Avengers Weekend Box Office Prediction

I keep reading $150+ mil on different sites and from the pre-sale and overseas numbers I think it will reach that and may pass up TDK's opening weekend totals. What say you?

I say between $155-$160 million. 3D+IMAX+Great reviews (More positive % and higher overall rating than TDK) + no competition = records.
2012 is going to be a banner year at the box office. 3 of the top 5 openings of all time are going to come from this year - Hunger Games, TDKR, and The Avengers are all going to top $150 million in their opening weekends. The Avengers and TDKR are going to knock the Spiderman franchise out of the top 3 box office spots. I don't think either will top TDK total box office in the US, but they'll be 2 and 3 in the Domestive Box office for a comic book movie and both have a solid chance at a billion worldwide.

They were updated since the last time I checked obviously. The last time I checked was Saturday/Sunday and 8 top critics had voted and had it at an average of 8.8. There were 75 reviews, 72 positive, with an average of 8.1 or 8.2. So the top critics who are usually snobby when it comes to action movies and superhero movies loved it more than the Joe Blow critics (who can still be a bit snobby).

I just saw a bootleg copy, and it is every bit as awesome as RT percentages predict.
Much more fun than TDK should be, and therefore will appeal to a wider audience.
It really was fantastic, non stop action with 5 or 6 laugh out loud moments.

It will be the highest grossing movie of all time, that is until DKR comes out.
