Why do I get the impression that Miles would love to have a JJ type QB every year. If it is true that Jeremy Johnson is on top of our QB board then what does it reallly say about how he really wants the offense to look. Here's to Mettenberger making this offense more productive and exciting and giving those QB runs to our stable of backs. I guesss I am just scarred from the JJ era.

Yes, Les Miles wants our offense to be inefficient. I think you're on to something and you should probably inform them about it on the Rant, they'll love to hear it.

Yea, this is more of a little rant rather than a qb recruit discussion and therefore belongs elsewhere.

JJ has mind control over the majority of posters on here, it's really sad

It's got nothing to do with JJ. It's got everything to do with the man pulling the strings. He has the want to be a good coach.

Explain to me in what way Jordan Jefferson and Jeremy Johnson are connected besides playing the same position?

God I hate our "fans"

Also did this really need its own thread?

Jefferson was a passing QB in high school, that we pretty much tried to make a running QB, and he wound up not being very good at either. Recruiting an actual dual threat QB would not be more of Jefferson types.

Exactly. That would be more of a Russel Sheppard type . . .

lets look at miles QB;'s since 2005

russell- pro style
flynn----pro style
perriloux-pro style
Jefferson--dual threat
Lee---------pro style
Sheppard----dual threat now at WR
mettenberger-pro style
rivers-------pro style

lets be honest here if RP hadn't screwed the pouch in 2008 then he would have been the starter in 2008 and 2009 at which point both Lee and jefferson would have had some years to learn and develope. Who knows Lee might have been the starter in 2010 and 2011.

We will never know because of the situation RP put miles in 2008.

Most of miles QB's have been pro style Qb's with good scrambling ability, JJ was really the only true Dual threat except for sheppard and he is now at WR.

I couldn't remember if he came in as a true dual threat or if he was more of a passer with good scrambling abilities.

I really wish he could have kept his nose cleaner and been LSU's starter in 2008 and 2009, no telling what might have happened. Oh well now its on to the mettenberger and rivers.

I wonder this all the time. Even if he wasn't the greatest qb ever Atleast it would be like throwing 2 brand new QBs out to the dogs

pissed me off that Gunner screwed us like he did.
I think he would have had a hell of a college career as a Tiger. Not meant to be. I think Mets the real deal. my fear is that we don't have much of a back up option should he be unable to play.
Think if Mets able to air it out and kids see we can and will throw the ball might have better luck getting Pro style qb with accurate arm. would even be better if Met hangs around for two years rather than one and out to the pros.

Two JJ threads on the recruiting board!

DA FUK?????

Here is a interesting Mitch Conner quote. I think LSU has a shot at this kid, and he plans to commit this summer:

quote:

"The thing that matters the most that I'm starting to learn, especially with quarterbacks, is the strength and conditioning coach," he said. "In the offseason, you're spending more time with them than with the coaches. So I've been checking those out, some kids don't care about that and only focus on the coaches. Playing time is also a factor, I'd like to get in there and compete right away."

Bring that kid to LSU, Coach Moffitt.

cbssports.com coverage of NYC Elite 11

quote:

"My two favorites right now that I'm really close with the coaches are South Carolina and LSU," Mitch said. "I love coach (Steve) Kragthrope and Coach (G.A.) Mangus too. The head coaches are easy to get along with too and that's what you're looking for."
