Hicks might not be the popular pick but after that what you got? Plenty of good players still on the board.

Hicks must have been the most popular pick for the Saints staff. I think that means more than what a bunch of message board GM's think.

how many DTs were good pass rushers on the Giants?

the Giants draft lean, fast DEs and develop them into amazing pass rushers. they have kept it up after spags

After reading up on Hicks I like the pick. Most good teams build from the inside out. Getting DT help is good.

He definitely needs technique work but his measurables are what you want in a DT.

I didn't know much about the guy before the pick. Watching his highlight videos, I'm excited about his potential.

I love the Hicks pick.
We need a big DT. Hicks is athletic, and I trust Spag to give him the coaching he needs

he's a boom/bust "measurable" guy, the type saints talk typically hates

*ETA: i don't mind the pick or anything, it's just funny

Saints typically don't have a coach who can develop them. Those coaches have to rely on a bounty program.

Its not exactly ideal. He's practically a 4th round pick. Looking at him if he drops 10-15 he's going to be pretty lean. Looks like he can run pretty well too.

He definitely fills the size void left by Rodgers and Franklin. My only concern is that we let those two go and we have zero depth at the position. The consensus opinion is that Hicks will need time to develop, but he may be forced into action quickly. I hope he can handle it.

I put several video links in with the scouting reports

Cameron Jordan develops further
Romeus 2012 breakout
Hicks 2013 breakout

unless spags completely changes his D, we need some pass rushers at DE ASAP. we currently have 0 and his D is based around 2-3 beasts

Graham exploded like very few players do. He went from being a hot young prospect in 10' to an all pro guy in 11'.

Romeus, Gallette, Wildon?
I think were not at a position to get picky. We just need to get BPA.
