First of all.. the guy didn't even see the kid reaching for it as he handed it to his wife.. He never saw the kid. They wouldn't know why he was crying.. quite the over-reaction by the announcer.

I've always pondered what I'd do in this situation. I've never caught a foul ball. The little shite has the rest of his life ahead of him to get one.. let me have mine.

yeah, not giving that up. That kid looked like he has never been told no in his entire life...as a child, throwing a fit until I got what i wanted didn't fly.

I thought it was funny the guy with the phone, the lady posing with the ball and the kid screaming and reaching for the ball.

That kid is too young to appreciate that ball...it could have been any ball...he saw it and he wanted it. The announcers acted like the couple stole his college tuition. Of course they were yankee announcers so they automatically suck at life.

Why is some foul ball such a big deal to grown people? I'll never understand the childlike fascination some of y'all have.....

I have been going to baseball games my whole life. I have, not once, caught a foul ball/HR. That is why. If it is at an LSU game I will give it to a child. If it is at an astros game. It's mine.

What are you going to do, keep it in a dusty shoe box forever?

Are you the same way with the tshirts they shoot into the crowd at basketball games? I kid, I kid

Well you pretty much nailed it.

It's a fascination you get going to games as a child. It never goes away.

I went to games growing up as well....guess I don't share the sentiment. What if the other team hit the foul ball, or some scrub you dont care about? So you wont throw back a HR hit by the opposing team, you'll cherish it for eternity? Never understood the fascination over getting someone to scribble down their name on a piece of paper either.....I'd much rather get a picture with the person if I'm a fan.

When I was 10 or 11, I was at Wrigley for a Mets-Cubs series. My dad finnagled some awesome seats that were only a couple rows from the on-deck circle. Mets catcher Todd Hundley throws me a ball when I wasn't looking and proceeds to hit me right in the cheek. Only ball I've ever managed to bring home. :csb:

THIS. frick a foul ball. I don't want that shite. I've got plenty of baseballs at home.

I do see wanting a milestone homer or something like that. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
