Ford....97 Ranger....220k...and going

Getting a new truck next month after graduation - the ranger has served me well, but with an oil leak and no AC (and a baby on the way) its just time to retire it.

Debating on a Tacoma, Tundra or F-150. I really like the F150, but I have a family member at Price Leblanc so its hard to pass up a good deal on a good truck.

I hit 200k in my 01 Yukon a couple months ago.. starting having minor problems here and there so I figured it was time to move on before it started to crap out. I went with a Sierra this time an love it so far.

My 95 mustang gt is sitting pretty at 213,000..... though the worm screw in the odometer broke and I didn't fix it for a few years. Amazing how long a vehicle will last when taken care of. Can't wait to buy a damn truck though.

I'm getting close to having to get new brake pads and grind the rotors. My brother's truck has about 10K more miles than mine and his just had to be replaced, and I'm wayyyy harder on my brakes.

I need to figure out what this damn lift kit did to my suspension too. My stock tires should have lasted at least 50K, I'm on my second set and these are already starting to wear funny

I gotta hand it to Chevy, even with the small annoyances and unimportant shite breaking as they age the drivetrains on that model of truck just keeps on kicking. Those things don't die.

The 98 expedition my brother has is approaching 200K and it's been a pretty solid vehicle.

Yea I have buddies that always want to hate about the little shite breaking, ie mostly electrical shite. Always look at them and let them know ill take my electrical shite over replacing a dodge transmission or Ford motor any day.

FWIW none of our Fords have had any drivetrain issues. And within my immediate family we have had 7. The 2011 explorer had a leaky glass roof that the warranty replaced, and my dad's transfer case had a leaky seal free about 5,000 miles that te warranty replaced. Other than that there have been no issues other than maintenance, except for the rear window wiper on the expedition.

Had a 25 year old ranger on original engine and tranny, just replaced carb and some other small parts that would be expected with regular use. It ran like a top til the days brother totaled it.

I'll more than likely drive a Ford truck til the day I die.

I might be one too.

I've got an '01 F150 off road 4x4 with 265K miles. About to replace the ball joints and put it up for sale.
Anyone looking for a good truck?

I thought I always wanted another Tacoma until I drove the Tundra. I'll never go back now.
