Is this guy on the radar? Apparently he did really well at the Atlanta Elite 11 regional. Haven't ever heard of him before. He's from Metarie, Archbishop Rummel.

Junior Highlights

"One of the quarterbacks who received extremely high praise, especially from Dilfer, was Williams, an unknown from the Bayou State. He's a stocky 6-1 and 215 pounds, built more like a running back than a quarterback. But at the Atlanta Elite 11, he showcased his big, accurate arm.

quote:

"Man, I came here to win," said Williams, who made the finals. "I think I impressed the coaches. Heck, I even impressed myself today. I think I really threw the ball well."

Williams says he has a scholarship offer from Kansas State, while teams such as Auburn, FSU, Mississippi State and Arizona State are showing interest."

First: Are you related to him in any way?

Second, he is a really good looking kid. Plays vs good competition also which helps.

Nope, never heard of him, I just thought it was interesting that a Louisiana kid really impressed at elite 11. Watched his video and he looks like he has a strong, accurate arm, just curious.

Bet he gets a look from LSU by the end of his senior year. The kid can ball and if he didn't play in Jay Roth's 90% run offense and had some decent receivers he could show more.

He reminds me of Tajh Boyd from Clemson.

Well you are wrong. Frank Wilson has already been going after him for 2 years now, but there is no offer yet. Being a finalist at the Atlanta Elite 11 and getting high praises from Trent Dilfer will sure help his case.

He has been on the LSU radar since he took over in the dome his freshman year.

And for the record Scott Buisson was the best Rummell QB to date.

And he played with a tear in his ACL all last year and still did very well.

Buisson was the best but Lester said most highly recruited. Damien has already achieved the most recruited qb in Rummel history.

Daris Wilson is the best QB in the schools history.

Very debatable I would say Buisson is at the moment, and Damien Williams by the time he graduates.

Buisson may have been the better college player. Not in high school though imo
