So for my college speech class I have to write a persuasive speech on how this pay for performance crap is like a bounty itself and how the rules can change. All I want to know is what you guys think of this crap. Let your anger out it'll help me.

Don't put that in your speech. That's a terrible sentence. I'm not sure what you're trying to say.
Can you clarify?

yeah you need to clarify what you're saying...what do you actually have to support that?
you would be inferring that the NFL is getting some sort of compensation for going after the saints

Its is incentive based, but pay for performance doesn't encourage players to hurt others, however; when you are paying defensive players based on their performance you are encouraging them to be more aggressive.
Either way, you can always argue that with a bounty no one is paying taxes. Pay for performance basically makes it "legal" and there isn't the perception that something bad is going on.

I think most of us are all angered out. If you search through the old threads on here you would probably get a pretty good feel. I would say briefly though that I think this is a perfect example of media sensationalism. They have overblown the facts to try and get viewers. Hell, ESPN is still running a Saints category at the bottom of their ticker!

You're from Harvey, son.
You have the grammatical skills to make it through this.

Any publicity is good publicity right?

I've been asking for two months and no one can answer (maybe there isn't one) but who exactly got paid and for what?? I can see where Williams and Vilma are wrong for offering the money but when are we going to hear about who actually accepted any payouts? This is ridiculous.

I really don't know how to clarify it cause the dumb arse for a teacher was talking a bunch of bullshite that made me even more confused. I know i have to persuade the listeners into being on my side of some topic so let's start there, what would be a good topic to persuade listeners on about this whole "scandal"

I don't know if I should take this as an insult with the son shite, or a compliment, but I was a honors and gifted and talented student so just because I'm from Harvey doesn't makes me another ignorant New Orleanian like yourself

That pay for performance is different than pay for injury. One is the equivalent to office betting while the latter is like corporate espionage. Try to convince your audience that they were not running a pay for injury program, and point to the lack of evidence to substantiate it.

Your welcome. I hated my public speaking class. I enjoyed reading and performing speeches, but I hated being forced to listen to terrible, incoherent ones.

I'm from Harvey, as well.
And I'm not ignorant.
Way to be defensive, buddy.

I hated mine at LSU as well. We had to give 4 speeches. one in character (got a 98), one 5 minute (got a 95), then the group (where one stupid bitch brought us down to a 82 because she messed up her part), and the final impromptu where I pulled "what does the William Shakespeare quote Nothing comes from Nothing mean to you." Got an 80 something and a B for the class. The next guy got "why do you enjoy going to LSU" and the one in front of me got "why is it important for a child to have a father in their lives"
still bitter

Oh thank God I didn't have a group speech. There were only a couple of other competent people in my class. Most of them were hopeless. They couldn't follow simple instructions. If we were suppose to give a persuasive speech, they gave an informative one. If the speech was suppose to be between 3-5 minutes, they were finish in 2 minutes or they would ramble on for 10 minutes.
