for awhile now the Saints have been mentioned as "Americas Team" for obvious reasons and it seemed like most people outside of Georgia and Carolina actually pulled for us.

Roles have now reversed. How unfair it may be we are considered the bad guys now (which i really don't mind).

Can the Saints and Brees accept this new role and run with it? I'd like to see an "I don't give a shite...middle finger in the air" attitude and them relish in it.

Brees won't. I don't want the defense to either. The defense were trying to be bad guys the past three years. No thanks. I'd just like them to have a "being good at my job" thing.

you will see a very motivated team. as for the "bad guy" image. meh.

I think our offense is gonna be more hated than our team as a whole will be. You thought we ran up the score last year NFL fans? wait till this year!

We can't be "fueled" by this bounty crap. We just need to find a way to be a good football team, prepare well, and execute well.

The end.

Being fueled extra by an image or cause is 98% short lived. We need to find a way to play well for 19 games.

I'm not so sure this team will be fueled by it, but it's going to be hanging over us all season and next year (at least). So we'll have to deal with it. I just hope it's galvanizing.

Okay, I agree it can fuel but I don't think that fuel will last us 16 games and into post season. It comes down to staying focus, preparation and execution. I don't really think the bounty fuel will help throw a better block, throw a more accurate pass, or be the difference in a colston catch or drop.

I guess if the bounty crap allows them to stay focused then i'd agree more but without the preparation and execution, the extra emotion on the field really doesn't do us much more favors longevity wise.

One thing for sure is that this has made the team polarizing. The team is constantly a headline, and at the end of hatred from the outside and bounty jokes worse than anything by Carlos Mencia. We will be watching a team that some idiots believe cheated, and many want to see fail, crash, and burn. The one way to shut people up would be to win. It's more so accepting that no matter what the team says or does, they are bad guys now, Give haters even more reason, and do it by winning against all odds.

It comes down to fundamentals on defense. especially tackling. We get that straight with Spags and were good to go. Payton and Drew have already established the highest standard of preparation and execution on offense.

Consistency on offense will be key. HOpefully this team learned their lesson against the Rams last year. Kind of ironic how this team had to prepare without payton last year... almost like a practice run for this year. We have the tools and talent to be stellar, but key is being stellar week in week out without Payton at the helm. Hard to enough to do with Payton there.

I don't think the team itself will be fueled by any kind of image...that's more for the fans. I do however, 110% think that a team, especially a very talented team can use what they perceive as unjust treatment as extra motivation for a season. I'm pretty sure the patriots (albeit losing the last one)used the spygate negativity as motivation to absolutely hammer teams for much of that season. To say we won't have a huge chip on our shoulder is incorrect I think.

The real reason he hasn't signed yet is because he's doing just that, along with growing a goatee and getting a sleeve of tats.

FACT.

This is exactly where I think it helps. On a day where somebody might tend to just go through the motions...there can be a bit more motivation. In a league of professionals, who gives a shite more on a given day can go a long way.

I hope we run up the score, and then in press conferences say, "That's what Sean would have wanted."

I don't think there is any question they will be motivated by all this bountygate crap. Its such a long season so for them to come in week in and week out playing with a chip on their shoulder, emotion can only take you so far.

I'm not real sure what the perception is from around the league from other fans. I guess it all depends on how much they let the media influence their thinking. To be honest, if this had happened to another team, I wouldn't really give a shite.

One thing is for sure, the Dome will be louder than ever
