Thoughts on 4 and 5 compared to what I've already seen from 1-3?
Any ideas what the difference in pay Colvin would receive retiring as a Lieutenant than as a Major? Just curious.

I've really enjoyed the first 3 and can't wait to watch the next 2.
No spoilers please.

4 is fantastic, 5 is easily the worst of the bunch, but it's still pretty damn good.

Just started rewatching S3 today, including the Bunny Colvin "paper bag" scene, which is amazing.

Great scene.
One of my favorites is when Cutty goes ask Avon for the money to buy boxing equipment.
All worked up over 10k and they act like it is nothing.

Cutty was my favorite character in season 3, the way his character was developed was brilliant.

I would echo this when describing them.

Agreed. And Michael's development was the same.

Season 3 is my favorite, Season 4 is Mrs. Baloo's favorite. But I will admit that S4 has several of my favorite scenes in the enitre series. And it definitely has the best wordless scene of the series.

Just a great arc.

4 is just as good or better. 5 it drops off a little but still great.

I am one of few people that thinks 2 is the best.

Just joking.

I'm pretty pumped for 4 now seeing as how the consensus seems to be that it is the favorite.
And Cutty's development is so well written and acted out. Its pretty perfect.

Season 4 is the greatest 13 hours of television ever written, produced, directed, and recorded.

It is deep and the most emotional of the series.

Season 3 was pretty good. I like 4 better and 5 not as much.

Bout to get back on my re watch of S1. A thread yesterday with some Oz discussion has me wanting to rewatch it again.

I have watched this show in it's entirety probably 7-8 times. I feel that Season 1 and 2 are the best of the series.

I missed parts of S1 & most of S2 during the original airing and have been rewatching from the start the last couple of weeks. A couple of questions have occurred to me. Freamon told McNulty about Rawls asking where he didn't want to go and then sending him there. This means Jimmy did want the Harbor Patrol job? And, I guess this isn't a question but I sure hope that bitch Ziggy dies in as painful a manner as possible. Actually, the entire stevedore's union can die screaming.

Watch the first episode. McNulty's sgt, Jay Landsman, comes in and tells him to keep it up and he will be back walking the beat in the Western. McNulty said he dont GAF because he came from the western. Then he tells landsman he doesn't want to get on the boat. I'm pretty sure landsman told Rawls that and thats why mcnulty ended up on the boat.

I've got to go with Slim Charles and the church "crown"/Sunday Morning shooting as my favorite.

I tell anyone with ears that season 3 and 4 of the Wire are the best television you will ever watch. Hated season 2 on the first go around but the way it hits you with a second viewing is amazing. It is so integral without you even realizing it.

And now I'm telling everyone that Game of Thrones seasons 3 and 4 will be like the Wire 3 and 4.
