Dude pretty much sucked when he started here and I was 100% certain he was done after surgery

Man, was I wrong. Is being a bullpen guy the main thing? Or is Allan Dunn just the best pitching coach alive?

I am happily eating crow on this one. Boy, was I wrong about Joey. He got in great shape, and his curve ball has even more bend on it with his already plus fastball around 90-92.

Real pitching coach + succesful rehab from TJ + lost weight.

I'm so happy to be proven wrong about him

Not going to lie I thought he should have been cut too considering what we saw from him in 2010 and then having tommy john. Alan Dunn I think has really made a positive impact on him and props to Mainieri for sticking with him knowing he had the talent, it just needed to be discovered.

Nothing motivates a person more than when everyone doubts and writes you off.

Going from a 6.68 ERA to 1.50 ERA has a lot more to do with better stuff than less powerful bats. Also does help he isn't a starter anymore for sure IMO. He was a stop gap starter that we had to have at the time.

first off wrong. He struggled, but just like many young pitchers, they mature and strive with good coaching and development. The surgery helped, but he just got better plain and simple

batters watching that 3rd strike curve fall off the table has nothing to do with bats.

he's always been talented. LSU signed him for a reason and kept him around for a reason. A guy that has been drafted before.

I dont think it's that shocking.
