He is not hesitant at all to let his feelings be known on this, talks about it 60% of his broadcasts practically.

He's right about flopping in general, but that's the wrong play to go on a rant about. James Jones exaggerated the contact, but it was still a moving screen. That's a foul, regardless of the situation.

Love me some JVG. Is there anything he's saying here that isn't true? The NBA is condoning flopping by choosing not to punish it.

I agree, the dude obviously pushed him which was a foul.. He may have over exaggerated a little bit to make sure the foul was called but it was a foul.

Everyone flops in the NBA, deal with it. I think the worst thing was when people would just jump into someone and shoot the ball up trying to get fouls.. I'm glad they got rid of that, somewhat.

This, big time. That was 100% an offensive foul. You can't just pass the ball and arm/shoulder/lean a defender out of the way so he can't get to the shooter. James Jones prolly didn't have to fall, but that's certainly not a flop. Flops are Ginobli or Divac lunging with little or no contact, shite like that. This was not that.

It doesn't even matter if Van Gundy is "right" about his rant, because he looks like an idiot ranting and bitching about something that didn't even happen.

I think it was a "straw that broke the camel's back" type situation. You can say you know, but you don't know if the ref would've called that had Jones not hit the ground (and no way does the contact naturally force him to the ground.)

I agree that on this play there was contact, but that doesn't make what he's saying less true.

Well no shite. That much is clear.

Of course not, but if Jones doesn't hit the ground, that doesn't make it less of a foul. It was 100% a foul. No question. So if Jones stays standing and the ref doesn't call it, it's bullshite on the ref IMO.

I'm not saying Jones fell BECAUSE of the push, but he was definitely pushed/forearmed/shouldered (however you want to call it), no question.

Basketball is almost as bad as soccer. Worse in some cases.
