Searched, but the thread was locked. My dad got a lease up there with his buddy and said i would be welcome to use. He said deer and a lot of turkey, yet the thread i was looking at said do not get land their, the hunter to deer ration is absurd. Do i need to call my dad and tell him he made a bad decision?

Is there any better options for deer between st. Tammany and br? Ive never hunted deer in la, only in ms and ga. I like hunting hardwoods.

It was prob my thread you were looking at. St Helena was the close and affordable but never found anything worth a damn. The two I found had 20-30 hunters on them, forget that shite.

Never hunted the area but I think it depends a lot on the size of the property, herd management and neighbors. I've hunted W.Feliciana all my life and its supposed to be one of the best areas of the state but wouldn't know it in some areas

I think it was urs from april 1st. Supposedly the only hunters would be my dad, his friend, my two brothers and I on 300 acres. And of course anyone we would bring. But the guy in that thread said they cut down the hardwoods and replaced with pine. Im gonna go out there this summer and set up some stands and what not, but i guess i dont want it to be a total waste of time and money.

Would have loved to find something like that, how did your dad come across it?
