trent was anti dirty recruiting, and we all saw how hard it was for him to recruit players, as a result

jones is the choice of CT and the "good ole boys," and it seems to me that this is a signal that they're trying to get the machine rolling again to ramp up our mediocre recruiting

We got the book thrown at us during my college tenure. I hope we are not that stupid.

If they are not capable of covering their tracks, then it is all pointless.

If lsu starts dirty recruiting again and gets caught, jones will have put the final "bullet" into the basketball program.

Going on probation isn't any worse than what we're doing right now, so I'll take it as long as we can make a Final Four run in the process. Let's ratchet the dirty shite up.

That is precisely why the hire was made imho.... The only clean coach in college basketball is coach k as he's coach k.... Have to bend the rules to succeed and that's what jones will do.

Without question the answer is yes. JJ was the bag man for gods sake. If I were the NCAA I would just open the investigation now.

I hope we are ready to get a little dirty in recruiting and cover our tracks.

If Calipari can get away with it, anyone can

Any rational Tiger fan in the know realizes what went on in that respect in the "glory days" of the Dale era, rationalizing of the Earl saga not withstanding.

Now that the gangs all back together how could we think that's not the case?

And alot of folks are o.k. with that. I'm not but hell, you're right slow...playing it clean killed T.J.

I'd still like to think there's a guy out there that could turn this around on the up and up. T.J. wasn't that guy obviously.

I know there's some old money back from the Dale era that will be glad to get back in the game. I just hope it doesn't come back to bite us.

and knowing the cancer that hangs around this program this is inevitable.

As legit as the evidence implicating Johnny Jones in the first place...right?

I doubt Jones will thumb his nose at the NCAA or his fellow coaches which seems to be the common denominator for an NCAA basketball investigation these days (Dale, Pearl etc.). It seems that the NCAA is content to keep their head in the sand unless you call them out or other coaches want to rat you out.

While I don't share this sentiment, I think that's where we're headed.

Again, does anyone have a link that shows where the Gulfport PD made an arrest in the theft of Johnny Jones' 20K cash that he brought with him on a recruiting trip while at LSU?

I just can't believe an arrest was never made...Guess some cleaning lady at the hotel had a little spending spree.

Wait...

if you don't think jones, who was the "recruitng" assistant for dale fricking brown got his hands dirty, who somehow landed a possible 1st round guard at north texas, is dirty, i don't know what to tell you

pretty much every good CBB coach is dirty. coach k may be an exception. he's the only one. CBB is horribly dirty and makes CFB recruiting look pristine. it's just the nature of the bidness (with AAU, shoe deals, etc)

Well, my post was half in jest, but I'm willing to not be so upset in 6 years when we go under, as long as it means we have major success in 2-5 years.
