I bought tickets for the Friday and saturday portion of the tournament. I have not been since a teen and would leave before it ended. Can any regular to this event tell me when it usually ends? When is a good time to get there? I am going for fun as I'm not a golf nut but want the entertainment and atmosphere. I don't want to get there at the beginning but dont want to miss all the fun. Thanks.

Anyone been to the champions club tent? Good buy or no?

Champions club is awesome. I pretty much got there last year at like 8:30-9. Grabbed some michelobs, and followed a couple groups till about 12:30-1. Went into the tent got some more drinks and ate and watched everyone come in...that was on Saturday though. ATmosphere was awesome. 10:00-4 is a good time. Not enough time for me, but if your looking to get there in the middle and not stay till the end that should work.

So you are saying its dead at the beginning since there are no golfer at 18 but it kicks arse at the end? They start getting to 18 around 1pm?

No, it's not dead at all. There will be people everywhere from the time the gates open till they close. Just saying, you said you didn't want to get there very early. The first group starts to hit the 18th I'd say around 12-1? And groups come in usually till about 6:30-7. I'm staying ther Saturday from 8-7 but I love this tournament and I am a golf nut.

Hopefully they've got it in good shape. I played there on Friday last week, and it wasn't in PGA condition at all. Temporary green on 2 and all the greens were very sandy.

I'm sure two weeks is enough time to get that all worked out though.

I was out there last Friday as well. I think they'll have it ready, but you're right, it wasn't in good condition.

The story we got was that the PGA Tour came down to evaluate the course for the tourney last month, and told TPC what to do with the greens. Apparently, there was some disagreement over it, but the Tour won out. After TPC did what they told them, they lost the greens on 2 and 11 (hence the temporary greens). I guess the rest of the top dressing was to get things ready on the rest of them.

I just hope they get things in order. With the decent field coming here this year, the last thing this tourney needs is to have a golf course in shitty shape. The players already have enough issues with the course as it is.

The weather in South LA thus far this year has not exactly been conducive to proper grass development.
