Staying at the Omni downtown. Need some dinner recs-doesn't have to particularly high class but I'd like some solid ideas. Also any watering holes nearby for drinks before/after dinner would be great. I'll have a car so if you know of a place out of the way you think is worth the effort that will work too. Gracias.

I haven't lived there since 96. The San Marco area was full of cool restaurants and bars. It is a very short drive (5 minutes from downtown) and a great area to hang out. Search that area on urbanspoon or yelp. Stay away from The Landing or Arlington area. Either go to San Marco/San Jose/Mandarin area or Ponte Vedra Beach.
I used to hang at this dive called Clarks's Fish Camp in Mandarin. Cool place on the water. I don't know if it's still good or got touristy. I have family in Atlantic Beach and we go to Ragtime and Pete's bar (locals place). Salt Life has a restaurant in Atlantic Beach. The theme is cheesy but you will love the scenery. Atlantic Beach is about 30 minutes from downtown - straight down Atlantic Blvd.
