More Disturbing to me than the bounty

If the stories are correct (and I don't believe them), it would appear that the ONLY reason the Saints played hard against San Fran was because of the pay out? Right? How stupid is that? We win that game and we are one game away from the SB, should that be enough incentive to "kill the head" ? and if the ONLY reason that the Saints played hard was to get an additional $1k...then that is disturbing to me as a fan...they should play hard for the SB esp being that close
Stupid, this is just stupid...there goes any use in the future of colloquial aggressive terms....

Um...no. Did we do any of the things GW talked about in the tape?

1k is pocket change to them anyway.

And as Sharper pointed out months ago: this amount is way less than a potential fine they could've gotten from the league so not really worth the financial risk.

agreed....and the above two comments...we (football fans) are being played the fool about a non story, made into a national crisis. Seems text book strategy employed by the normal press....now it is filtered into sports media.

Gregg's creepy pep talk sure made a difference on that last SF drive

We're the one who got beaten up in that game. Everyone acts shocked when they hear the recording, but no one seems to remember the game. It's really much to do about nothing. It was a lot of talk.

yes! My first thought after they scored that TD... was stellar D- those boys were playing OUT of their minds, they must have had extra incentive.
The most MIND BLOWING aggressive "KILL THE HEAD" hit was when Alex Smith ran that ball in for the first go ahead lead...I thought then and there that the D had to be playing above their ability. I was suspect for sure...money HAD TO BE GIVEN

I mean shite, if not for that speech they might have scored the winning touchdown in 12 seconbds instead of 26. Thank god for Gregg Williams!

no, if they scored in 12 seconds, Drew would have won the damn game.

Whats more disturbing to me is that you as a Florida fan are more worried about chasing dumb shite like this rather than asking why your runner didn't go home from 3rd last night

HAHA man that is funy
ETA; Whats more disturbing to me is that with 2 wars, an economy in the toilet, a Republican race for the candidacy, a looming presidential election, a massive healthcare debate and supreme court case, etc... Fox and CNN see fit to report this like its political national news. And they have been talking about the audio tape all day. Dumbass blonde women on fox news are analyzing this audio tape. Go back to the kitchen bitches.

With the money players make nowadays these "bounties" are worth about as much to them as stickers the little stickers that pee wee players get on the back of their helmets when they make good plays. When people say that this stuff actually gave us a competitive advantage I get a strong urge to punch them in the jejunum

Don't recall Williams mentioning money in that speech. Apparently now the defense wasn't money hungry and immoral they were actually bloodthirsty monsters playing prison ball.

Yeah it's amazing how the NFL doesn't remember the dirtiest hit in the game was the helmet to helmer on P Thomas that broke his jaw and knocked him out. Wasn't even discussed after the game.
