“I have no answer, no explanation,” UF coach Kevin O’Sullivan said. “If the ball goes over the fence, he scores. If the ball is caught, he scores. If he drops it, he scores. If it’s foul, he scores. We work on baserunning every day. You can’t run the bases for them.

“We had a chance to tie it and we didn’t. I don’t mean to be short, but I’m a little floored right now. I’ve never seen it before. He thought it was a home run and he lost his cool.”

Man, I'd hate to be that base runner after the game.

i was watchin and just assumed he scored, then i realized he was still on 3rd base. maybe this evens out after the first auburn game. also, fla got a run when they shouldn't have when they hadn't crossed home plate before the double play earlier in the game.

How would he have scored on a foul? Wouldnt Katz let a ball fall in foul ground to save the run?

If the game is tied no doubt. But with a 1 run lead you probably take the out and get to extras.

I was absolutely shocked. After watching my Cleveland Indians lose in 16 innings I didn't wanna watch the Tigers go down in the bottom of the 9th. Made me happy to catch a break

only if we catch it....and that's assuming his superbly coached players can get to home from third without tripping, losing concentration or deciding to text a message. freakn' little league deja vue...or what?

time well spent.

If that was the winning run, OK. But with the tying run, you have to take the out. You never want to give the other team extra outs. By letting the ball drop, you double their chances of winning not just playing free baseball.

PIGOTT, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?

That was some funny shite right there with the 3rd base coach in that kid's earhole repeating the question.

That kid never moved his eyes an inch. Didn't look at the coach, didn't look at the dugout. Just had that "Awwww, sheeeeeeeit" look on his face staring straight ahead. Goat's horns sprouting through his batting helmet.

Those quotes smack of Saban throwing Booty under the bus after the UAB game.

I'll get crucified for saying this, and as much as it was hilarious that it happened and ultimately won the game, I kinda felt bad for the guy.

Off the bat, pretty much everyone thought it was gone. He got a little overanxious, thinking they had just won with a 3-run walk off. Inexcusable, and all on him, but I still kinda felt bad.
